But some of them have shifted their destinations to the Ubud area even in very large number. Slowly Ubud has become a tourist destination even more crowded than Kuta.

Ubud is located not far from Denpasar, and even in this area is very much tourist attractions you can visit with the distance is not far from each other. This place offers the natural beauty and exploration. You can enjoy the sensation of nature and adventure along the river with a swift current. Located on hilly area allows you to look around more freely. But unfortunately Ubud has no beach that is able to match Kuta, Uluwatu or Nusa Dua.

Ubud is famous for its culture and arts. Along the road you can find Art shop and various other souvenir stores. The goods offered in Ubud Market also have a high artistic value. In this place there are also very much places for your interest in the painting gallery.

serangan island and its half finished mega project

serangan festival

Serangan Island and its mega project overview

As the main destination to a tropical holiday in the world, Bali has millions of foreign tourists each year. So to facilitate them and also with the aim to get more of them visiting, Bali continues to grow for that purpose in the most extraordinary speed.

Some time ago, ever held a giant mega project which plans to build a bridge connecting the Serangan Island and Tanjung Benoa. But the progress is rather slow due to protests from many groups. Now the project could even be said discontinue as there is no significant activity for its development.

In the situation of the abandoned project, some time ago had held a festival called the Serangan Green Festival for its second time which has just ended on last Sunday, with the aim to popularize the tourism sites. But unfortunately the attention of tourists is still not fully lead to this place.

But verily, in this place have hidden potential that its value could even be same to famous places like Kuta and Sanur. Imagine you could do the surfing, diving, water sport, and swim in one place very close together.
Utilizing the half-finished project, the family often used it as a place for picnic. In addition to the vast available land, the landscape was very unusual and riveting. Indeed, some even use it as a place to practice driving illegally.

If the mega project could be completed, perhaps this place will become the biggest tourist attractions for Bali Region. But in such condition that even now, this place is still visited by tourists and local residents even though the amount is not much.

serangan project

Serangan Island is crying

Surely, in its time first, the Serangan is a very beautiful island. With Pura Sakenan as its icon. In this place is also very popular with sea turtles. Currently, the Sakenan Island serves as breeding places for the preservation of Turtle.

Besides turtles, other marine products are also very famous in this place. No wonder the place is used as an icon of seafood. At the time of the Serangan Green Festival on its second time last week, sea dish remains the main menu of the most interesting more than the festival itself.

Many fishermen and local residents who deplore the construction project to link the island and Tanjung Benoa. In the previous times, owners of boats capable of generating revenue by renting his boat to cross, this time it is no longer. With the bridge, peoples could easily cross over by using their vehicle, which means less revenue for boat owners. Even the result of the mega project, the beautiful coral reefs must be sacrificed.
Some time ago the local residents seems crying to see the projects that are not completed to date. And the beauty of the real charm of a Serangan Island is now a distant memory. But it is slowly the island gradually recovered and began to be visited again by the tourists though still within the amount that is not too much.

serangan beach beauty

Serangan Island seabed is a hidden treasure

Although the "surface" of this island has experienced a setback, but the underwater natural charm remains as a hidden treasure. A few moments later it has even become quite crowded dive sites demand. Because it is in this place, the coral reef is the main symbol and also things that can attract the attention of divers, although a few moments ago been destroyed as a result of a mega project. On the occasion yesterday, the government began again to seek the preservation of coral reefs.

In addition colorful fishes and beautiful coral reefs, the catch of eatable fishes is also abundant. This place is often used as a fishing spot by the fishermen and those who have a hobby of fishing.

Seeing a beautiful sunset in the "Tanah Lot"

seeing a beautiful sunset in tanah lot
As in the article we've written before, Tanah Lot is a tourist destination that would normally be visited at the end of a tour package. The reason could be different, the main course so you can see how beautiful the sun while immersed in this place. Another reason may be it is close to Denpasar when you choose it for your hotel.

Why is the sunset in the Tanah Lot so beautiful?

Tanah Lot is facing towards west. Thus you can see more clearly the sunset like the other beaches are also facing towards west. But one thing that sets it apart from other beaches, there is an "island" that could become an interesting object with a temple on it, which complement the views of the sunset itself. You can see in the picture that we include here is what kind of picture you will get when you visit it later.

One thing that makes it different from other similar beach, in Tanah Lot available different places for you to capture the sunset images from various viewpoints. Moreover you will get a perfect picture when you see it on the veranda of a hotel which was right near the Tanah Lot Temple. Unfortunately we do not remember the name of the hotel but do not worry; we will immediately create a new post about the hotel later.

Stay in the Tanah Lot

For those of you who feel afraid to come back at night as you see the sunset, you can try to stay in this place. There are so many choices hotels or villas that you can choose as a place to stay. Some even are very close to these attractions so that you can even see the temple and beach right from your room’s veranda.

The prices that they offer are in wide enough range. Some inns offer a cheap price of around U.S. $ 10 or IDR 100,000 for a night, or there are also villas offering price of approximately U.S. $ 35 to U.S. $ 60 or IDR 350,000 to IDR 600,000 for the cost. If you want to enjoy luxury, near this place there are also starred hotel called the Pan Pacific or formerly known as Le Meridien. Of course, their prices will be slightly more expensive when compared to other accommodation.

pay before you use the toilet

you need to pay before use the toilet

In some public places like beaches and recreational areas we can find public toilets. But to use it we are required to pay a sum of money usually with a number that is not too much, e.g IDR 2,000 or 1.000 depending on the policy of each site.

Is a good idea to always carry coins when you travel to various tourist spots in Bali. As I wrote above, sometimes public facilities such as toilets, or place of rinse requires us to pay before we are allowed to use it. There are also several facilities that are free but almost of them are in very bad condition and actually they are not feasible to use.

If you feel that it sounds ridiculous on your ears, let us think about it again. Some visitors, certainly not all, use the facility in a manner that is less good. Managers will spend so much money to fix it from year to year. Where do they get these funds? They may not charge a fee, but instead they will not repair the facilities when they damaged. Certainly it will hurt us as users. You can see in various places, the facilities that is free to use is not really feasible to be used again

The sexiest beach ever : Kuta

Kuta is sexy

We know you love Kuta !

Everyone loves it, you love it, they love it, I love it, WE LOVE IT. That’s why we post another article about Kuta. AGAIN. Just try to count the number of tourist that visit Kuta in a year. What is your result? Well we wouldn’t count for it. It is easier to count the number of tourist that didn’t visit Kuta when they on a Holiday in Bali. The number will come in less digits.

Kuta seem have magic that attract people’s attention. Families, Couples, Tourists, Locals, Kids, Adults, all of them have their own fun on the beach. They enjoy it with surf the wave, enjoy it with laying on the sand, some of them playing football with their friends, while couples enjoy the sunset and romantic moment, and photographer seek for objects.

Will somebody hate Kuta ?

Who wouldn’t people love the sexy Kuta beach? With it white and clean sand, comfortable sun shine, nice breeze, safe to swim sea water, many accommodation along it, so much interesting places, so many you can do there, so many stories come from this place. Who haven’t heard about the famous “cowboy in paradise”? The story is begin from here.

You can rent a surf board, learn how to surf, looking for girls, swimming, sun bathing, enjoy dinner with beach view on the sea side restaurant, admire the sunset from your hotel room like one on Hard rock or other Starred Hotels, shaking your body on the music sounds by the nearby clubs and start your nightlife party, so much you can do here.

What will be in Kuta ?

Start from December until new year, Kuta will so full like crazy. The climax will be on the Christmas Eve, and the New Year eve. There will be firework parties, music ringing everywhere, trumpets, peoples dancing on the beach side, it will be so crowded. No cars allowed crossing, the security will be so tight, everywhere full of people.

So start books your trip from now. And enjoy the party on the beach. It will be very difficult for you to get sea side accommodation during this season but don’t worry. There is an alley named “Popies”, you can find it if you walk along the beach road. Inside there, there will be plenty of cheap hotels you can choose. But they are not having online booking or book from phone service. So you need to reserve the room right from their doors. They only cost you for US $ 5 per day. You can stay there for full month with cheaper cost. They are perfect alternative during this season. But they don’t have any pools. Who needs a pool if you can swim on the beach ?

who wants to lay down on the beach filled with garbage?

who wants to lay down on the beach filled with garbage
Although the cleaners have worked so hard to maintain the environment, but the problem of garbage is what it seems never-ending. I don’t know who own the responsible that have donated their garbage in not proper place.

In several popular beaches and most visited, the problem of garbage is also a thing you will meet. Fortunately Kuta beach and surrounding areas have garbage’s level fairly low when compared with other beaches that are not too far away. Like the German beach we've ever discussed in our previous article, the rubbish on the beach is a problem that needs our attention.

You can see it through the image how the garbage thrown in not proper place.
Should we blame the cleaning officers on this issue? Or maybe this is an opportunity for us to reflect back to our habit of not throwing garbage in the proper place. When the sand on the beach was filled with trash, will there be peoples who still want to lie on the sand? We don’t.

This is not the times to blame each other

We spotted many local residents who leave the remaining food or drink wraps just on the sand. We also spotted visitors or tourists who also do the same in an amount not much less when we comparing them together.

Now all we need is awareness. We do not require the suspect to be blamed or blame each other between local residents and foreign visitors. It would be nice if they, we, me and you are trying together to keep the beaches clean for the sake of our collective comfort.

More stories about Bali Mangrove Forest Conservation Center

Okay now is the time for you to see more pictures and stories about an adventure along the mangrove conservation center in Bali. We already posted some information about the place but here we will add more story so you can imagine what will the place looks like.

Before you start your adventure please note the following points:
  • Do not carry too much stuff. In this place you will walk for around and explore the mangroves. There will be no vehicle available to you. Carrying too much stuff will make you more tired. Leave your baggage in the car or bus, but make sure the safety first.
  • Bring a camera. It would be a pity if you do not take a picture while you visit it.
  • Prepare some money for an entrance fee. For more details about entry fees, check our post here.

Mangrove Forest Exploration Begin

You are now ready to explore. There are several routes you can take. Each has its own thing that they can offer for you to see. And some routes are still under construction but it will not hinder your journey. See first the map provided at the gate before you start your adventure.

After walking a while, you will see the first intersection. If you choose the route to the left, then you will find the bird tower where you can look around more clearly from the top. Oops, watch the warn board about maximum load. Do not ever go beyond it. You don’t want anything happen to you right?

mangrove forest crustaceans observation postIf you decide to keep walking straight and ignore the first junction, then you will see a bridge that is in under construction. Do not panic, you can still pass as long as you ensure yourself to be careful when you cross it. Then a few meters after that, you'll see all sorts of small animals like crustacean. You can see it more clearly in the post few meters from the bridge under constructed which you just pass.

Passing a few meters from the post there is a resting place which it is high enough for you to enjoy around more freely. Rest for a moment at the top and enjoy the scenery first. Do not worry; there is no weight limit this time. You can bring all of your party to rest up there.

place to rest in mangrove forestBelow the resting place you will find second intersection. If at the first intersection you choose the left and did not walk straight, then you will arrive here. Do not turn around in this place, there is still half the places you have not explored. But if you decide to return, then you can see the view in the form of a mini lake with mangroves and small shrimp around it. There is a rest post again in this place. Then you will end up at the first intersection next to the entrance gate.

Go straight! Your journey is not over yet! Oops, another half of the journey will be your story. We will only take you up to here.

Before we end our post, there are some things you should consider:
  1. You may not smoke in this place.
  2. You are not allowed to bring food from outside, or enjoy a meal inside.
  3. Do not write on the bridge or on the board with unnecessary words like "john have been here" or something like “John loves Nancy Forever”.
Wew,,,i wish i knew how to sort these images so i can provide more better look and more images to the post. Does any body who read the post know how to arrange pictures so it will look more neat on the post ? Please inform us with leave your comment below. Thank you.

serangan's hidden treasure

harbor in serangan
Serangan is famous with its Sakenan holy temples. The temple itself has been a tourism object for ages. But not much people know about the beach. The beach itself has same potential as a tourist attraction but it less famous comparing to the temple.

Serangan is a small island in south of Denpasar. Once you need a boat to reach the island. We say it once because now there are bridge that connect the two separate island. Serangan Island itself is also known with "Island of turtles" and one of favorite place to dive.

Here you can hire a boat and explore the beach or dive into it to see the inner beauty of serangan's hidden treasure.

rice field view in sideman

beautiful rice field view in sideman
The picture is taken in Sideman area. As you can see on the picture, the rice field is not like the other you know. They are designed using terracing system.

The terracing system itself is designed to follow the natural shape and to ease the irrigation or water distribution.

They are often used as a tracking route by the tourist. The tourist can explore the land and also enjoy the scenery like one in the Ubud area.

The rice field blends perfectly with the nature so they do not much like an artificial made by human. Their balance with nature makes it very beautiful to enjoy the scenery. Some time in the middle of it there will be a hut for people to take a rest while enjoy the view. They can have their meal on the hut like they do a picnic. But make sure you have the owner's permission before else, don't worry, the owner will grant you the permission if you ask them. And also you don't have to pay for that.

life in canggu village

life in canggu village
Have you ever imagine to live in Bali ? If you have, then which one will you choose, a life in a crowded city like Denpasar or in a peaceful place like canggu village ?

This picture is taken in Canggu area very near to Denpasar but the situation is so much different. In here you still can find rice field, you can feel fresh air, not much noise. It is so calm and peaceful.

But off course as a consequence of living in rural area the life here will be not much efficient. The shops are Kilometers far to reach. No amusement center near the place. But fortunately there are phone line, internet, and also signals for phones cell.

The place is actually perfect for those who like to enjoy the nature, who desire a peaceful life, and for people who like to travel. Why travel ? Because there are many tourism object near the place.

The tourism object that near to Canggu are Brawa beach, Tanah Lot, Kuta, Seminyak, Alas Kedaton, Taman Ayun.

the public transportation

taxi as public transportation in bali

taxi

One of the Public transportation in Bali is Taxi. They can be found if you wait for a moment on the roadside. But if you need an immediate service or if you are waiting not on the side road then you can call the taxi center in their line on (0361) 701111 to order the blue bird taxi or (0361) 701 621 for their customer care.

Actually there are other service than blue bird, but they are the fastest if we talk about service.

Some tips if you use Taxi

Make sure not to forget your luggage and leave them on the taxi. But if you do then you can call their customer care to ask about forgotten items. Off course you need to remember the taxi number you ride before.

Make sure the argo is running. Never believe if they use fixed price.

Confirm first their ID card on the dashboard. If they are not match, then you better not to ride it.

bemo

Bemo is another public transportation in Bali. But it is more traditional than taxi. They are cars that colored in blue or red depend on their route. They are real public service so you need to share with other people which also ride on the same vehicle with you. Their service almost like a public bus, or public train, but they are smaller like normal cars or taxi. Bemo is really cheap compare to taxi, as it is for public transportation.

Tips when you want to use bemo

Know your direction, because they will not take you to your exact destination. And choose the bemo color that direct to your destination or cross it.

Ask before you ride. They often cost you with outstanding number of money. Or they may be not passing your destination. So you better ask the driver before you ride on it.

Horse Cart

It is more to tourist transportation. Because they are not truly serve the public. The Horse cart is rare to see nowadays  so you need to charter one in Kuta Beach. It is perfect if you want to see surrounding but you don't want to walk. But they are not suite if you are in a rush.

Tips if you want to ride a horse cart

Bring camera. Because you will get a perfect pictures when you ride on them.

houses with rice field view

houses that can see the rice field from their veranda
There are houses and villas in bali especially the one that near canggu area that have ricefields that they can see right in front or on their back side. So they can clearly see the view from their veranda.

Many tourist like villa with this view

Some of its part still under construction

On our latest visit to Mangrove Forest Conservation Center, we found some part of it are broken and still under constructed. As you can see here on the picture, the road are collapsed in some area. So the option is : you need to detour and choose different route or you can pass it but you need to be careful not to fall.

But you don't have to worry because you can still enjoy the beauty, as it is still open and serve the public. It will be better if you check the notification board first to choose the best route so you will not crossed the under construction area. They have the Map board for you to check and choose the route. They are all will meet on the same direction no matter which route you choose. But the consequence is you can not see some of the show like crustaceans if you chose another route.

please help us to maintain the beauty

Although they already have cleaning officers but without our support, their hard work will be useless. Please do not throw your waste in not proper places. And also keep in mind, please do not write down any useless letter into their property. It will dirt they looks and off course people would not enjoy it anymore if the place are all dirt.

kuta beach is good for surfers and families
Articles about kuta are already plenty much in the Internet, so we felt that we would not pile it up anymore. As a result, we will write about Kuta which is a bit different from what already exists to enrich the content in the Internet world

Kuta is popular with surfers and families to swim

As you can see in the picture, Kuta is a beach that is ideal for all sectors. Starting with families, surfers, couples, photographers and it is even the most strategic place to sell goods. The waves are not too large and mid-size in some places makes it very safe for families to swim and relax. The natural beauty with a charming sunset is preferred by couples to spend a romantic moment and photographers to create beautiful panoramic photos.

The waves even enough so that surfers can do some maneuvers with their surf board.

The sand in beach of Kuta is very white and clean because every day there are officers who are specifically for cleaning the garbage on the guests left. But to help their operation, we ask your support for not throwing garbage in not proper places.

As a result for their hard work and support from the visitors, the sand in Kuta is white and clean, there are many tourists who come to this Kuta beach for sunbathing. When you require an assistance, there are many workers who provide assistance to oil the sun oil in your back or give a massage to help you be more relaxed, most of these humanitarian workers are women, but if you want the power of men There are some that you can turn to for help, but their numbers are not as many as female workers.

In Kuta beach there are also lifeguard posts that you can go to if you want to ask for help or more information. Several lifeguard officers also conduct patrols to monitor security in the region around the beach so you can feel confident and comfortable doing activities. But yet still keep your valuables on yourself guard to avoid bad things happen.

Tips for families to swim

Sometimes the waves at Kuta can be quite large and quite dangerous for you to swim. The officer would usually in a ban on the beach and give warning sign to prevent you from swimming accidents. So confirm with the lifeguards or check the notice board before you swim.

If you bring kids, make sure your children stay within your protection and control. Don’t let them play deeply. Bars early in the first place with your body to know the safe limits for your child before you let your children swim, because there is no depth notice board as usually found in the pool. Make sure the area is safe, because beach has an irregular basis.

Note also surfers, avoid too close to them to avoid direct confrontation of the surfers who are riding their surfboard. Keep in mind that they were surf with fast speed, so it will be very difficult for them to avoid an obstacle located in front of them.

Remember to monitor and pay more attention to your luggage. Especially when you are bring your valuables together. But we suggest you to leave valuables in your hotel room or leave it to the safety box in your hotel. The Receptionist is the place where you can ask the hotel to inquire about safe deposit services.

Prepare a dime on the dollar for using the body shower or toilet. Since the beach of Kuta, in some places require you to enter a sum of money in a box to be able to use it. Usually there is a free service but you have to queue to use it.

Tips for surfers

You have to remember that not only you are on the beach of Kuta and enjoying it. Note also around you, there are a lot of people that are swimming around you. Do not get too close to them who were swimming, because you will find it hard to avoid it when you surf.

There are times where you are not allowed to surf, so first ask the officers of the Coast Guard for information before you surf. When the sea water is in a condition that can be quite harmful to you, then the officers usually install the warning sign, but it would be better if you keep asking.

Leave your baggage at the post for protection or on places they have directed.

Prepare a dime on the dollar if you want to rinse your body before returning to your hotel or residence.

Tips for public

.

Consider carefully your luggage. If you loss something, immediately report to the lifeguard posts or the nearest police station and provide detailed information as possible to ease their investigation.

Come to about 5 or 6 pm if you want to watch the sunset. If you want to spend the time before you see the sunset, there are many places where you can sit and relax to spend the time.

Throw the waste in its places. This is to help the officers and all of us in the maintenance of environment.

Prepare also some small amount change money, because in this place require you to pay to use the toilet or rinse. Probably around IDR 1,000 or IDR 2,000 depend on the policy of the area.
