Serangan Island and its mega project overview As the main destination to a tropical holiday in the world, Bali has millions of foreign tourists each year. So to facilitate them and also with the aim to get more of them visiting, Bali continues to grow for that purpose in the most extraordinary speed. In some public places like beaches and recreational areas we can find public toilets. But to use it we are required to pay a sum of money usually with a number that is not too much, e.g IDR 2,000 or 1.000 depending on the policy of each site. Is a good idea to always carry coins when you travel to various tourist spots in Bali. As I wrote above, sometimes public facilities such as toilets, or place of rinse requires us to pay before we are allowed to use it. There are also several facilities that are free but almost of them are in very bad condition and actually they are not feasible to use. Although the cleaners have worked so hard to maintain the environment, but the problem of garbage is what it seems never-ending. Serangan is famous with its Sakenan holy temples. The temple itself has been a tourism object for ages. But not much people know about the beach. The beach itself has same potential as a tourist attraction but it less famous comparing to the temple. Serangan is a small island in south of Denpasar. Once you need a boat to reach the island. We say it once because now there are bridge that connect the two separate island. Serangan Island itself is also known with "Island of turtles" and one of favorite place to dive. Here you can hire a boat and explore the beach or dive into it to see the inner beauty of serangan's hidden treasure.

The picture is taken in Sideman area. As you can see on the picture, the rice field is not like the other you know. They are designed using terracing system. The terracing system itself is designed to follow the natural shape and to ease the irrigation or water distribution. They are often used as a tracking route by the tourist. The tourist can explore the land and also enjoy the scenery like one in the Ubud area. The rice field blends perfectly with the nature so they do not much like an artificial made by human. Their balance with nature makes it very beautiful to enjoy the scenery. Some time in the middle of it there will be a hut for people to take a rest while enjoy the view. They can have their meal on the hut like they do a picnic. But make sure you have the owner's permission before else, don't worry, the owner will grant you the permission if you ask them. And also you don't have to pay for that.

Have you ever imagine to live in Bali ? If you have, then which one will you choose, a life in a crowded city like Denpasar or in a peaceful place like canggu village ? This picture is taken in Canggu area very near to Denpasar but the situation is so much different. In here you still can find rice field, you can feel fresh air, not much noise. It is so calm and peaceful. But off course as a consequence of living in rural area the life here will be not much efficient. The shops are Kilometers far to reach. No amusement center near the place. But fortunately there are phone line, internet, and also signals for phones cell. The place is actually perfect for those who like to enjoy the nature, who desire a peaceful life, and for people who like to travel. Why travel ? Because there are many tourism object near the place. The tourism object that near to Canggu are Brawa beach, Tanah Lot, Kuta, Seminyak, Alas Kedaton, Taman Ayun.

taxi One of the Public transportation in Bali is Taxi. They can be found if you wait for a moment on the roadside. But if you need an immediate service or if you are waiting not on the side road then you can call the taxi center in their line on (0361) 701111 to order the blue bird taxi or (0361) 701 621 for their customer care. Actually there are other service than blue bird, but they are the fastest if we talk about service. Some tips if you use Taxi Make sure not to forget your luggage and leave them on the taxi. But if you do then you can call their customer care to ask about forgotten items. Off course you need to remember the taxi number you ride before. Make sure the argo is running. Never believe if they use fixed price. Confirm first their ID card on the dashboard. If they are not match, then you better not to ride it. bemo Bemo is another public transportation in Bali. But it is more traditional than taxi. They are cars that colored in blue or red depend on their route.

There are houses and villas in bali especially the one that near canggu area that have ricefields that they can see right in front or on their back side. So they can clearly see the view from their veranda. Many tourist like villa with this view For people who live in big city they are rarely see the view like this. On their original place in the city, there are no rice field for them to see. So when they on holiday here, they often ask for villas that have a rice field view. And you can find it plenty here. In some area, rice field can be a tourist attraction as they are beautiful Rice fields inside the city like Denpasar isn't something that so special. But in some area like Ubud or Tabanan, Rice fields is almost like a tourism object as they are beautifully designed. In some ceremonies, there will be a "Ida pedanda" as the leader of the ceremony. He will say prayers, recite the mantras. All hindhus people in Bali really respect the "ida pedanda" as a sacred and a holy man. To become a "Ida Pedanda", the person needs necessary knowledge about spells, comes from a special family tree, and has been purified or has been considered sacred by the community.

Some of its part still under construction On our latest visit to Mangrove Forest Conservation Center, we found some part of it are broken and still under constructed. As you can see here on the picture, the road are collapsed in some area. So the option is : you need to detour and choose different route or you can pass it but you need to be careful not to fall. But you don't have to worry because you can still enjoy the beauty, as it is still open and serve the public. It will be better if you check the notification board first to choose the best route so you will not crossed the under construction area. One of the great benefit values of Bali is its friendliness and openness to foreigners. They allow travelers to view, query, and monitor and satisfy their curiosity on issues related to the culture of Bali. If you are interested, as you see something new, do not hesitate to ask people near you. As a tourist island, certainly most people in Bali can speak English but not so well and smoothly, but at least they can provide you with good information.
