Pecalang are traditional Balinese security officers who play an important role in maintaining customs and order in Balinese villages. They are unpaid volunteers who are appointed by the village council (banjar). Pecalang are typically dressed in traditional Balinese clothing, including a black-and-white checkered sarong, a black vest, and a headband. I had hesitated to put this post in this blog. Then I think, at least this does not deviate completely from the theme of this blog, that is a picture of Bali and its life. Yes, I found this unique house in Bali, so I feel that I deserve to add it as an article. At noon today, when the sun is just right above my head, even though the weather was so hot I made time to look around the city of Denpasar. This time my destination is Sidakarya Sesetan. There are not so many really interesting things from this place actually. I just want to see the temple is quite famous for its palace and if lucky I could see the sidakarya mask dance and take their picture. Whether because of daydreaming, I had a wrong turn at the crossroads and headed to Jl. Tukad Petanu which continued lead to Kertha Dalem. Serangan Island and its mega project overview As the main destination to a tropical holiday in the world, Bali has millions of foreign tourists each year. So to facilitate them and also with the aim to get more of them visiting, Bali continues to grow for that purpose in the most extraordinary speed. Some time ago, ever held a giant mega project which plans to build a bridge connecting the Serangan Island and Tanjung Benoa. But the progress is rather slow due to protests from many groups. Serangan is famous with its Sakenan holy temples. The temple itself has been a tourism object for ages. But not much people know about the beach. The beach itself has same potential as a tourist attraction but it less famous comparing to the temple. Serangan is a small island in south of Denpasar. Once you need a boat to reach the island. We say it once because now there are bridge that connect the two separate island. Serangan Island itself is also known with "Island of turtles" and one of favorite place to dive. Here you can hire a boat and explore the beach or dive into it to see the inner beauty of serangan's hidden treasure.

We have posted an article about Mangrove Forest  Conservation Center before. We have describe the beauty, what you can see on the site, and how much is the entrance fee on our previous post. If you haven't read it, we suggest you to read it first. Some of its part still under construction On our latest visit to Mangrove Forest Conservation Center, we found some part of it are broken and still under constructed. As you can see here on the picture, the road are collapsed in some area. So the option is : you need to detour and choose different route or you can pass it but you need to be careful not to fall. But you don't have to worry because you can still enjoy the beauty, as it is still open and serve the public. It will be better if you check the notification board first to choose the best route so you will not crossed the under construction area. They have the Map board for you to check and choose the route. They are all will meet on the same direction no matter which route...

No no...borobudur temple is not in Bali. Don't get me wrong this time. I have telling you on my post title. Don't blame me. And for your information, Borobudur temple is in Jogyakarta and NOT in Bali. Then if you wonder about what is this temple exactly is allow me to give short explanation for you. This is a " Renon Monument ". What is Renon Monument ? A Monument that built in Renon. Yea sure that explain a lot. This monument are on the center of Denpasar City. So if you are come from Sanur and your next direction is Denpasar, then you surely will meet the monument. It is not as large and extravagant as Borobudur. But it has its potential to keep visitor coming to it every day. The locals here are very love it.
